Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Europe, a dramatic promontory where the Serra de Sintra meets the Atlantic in sheer cliffs. A stone marker at the lighthouse records the coordinates. The exposed headland offers wide ocean views and is a natural stop on the journey between Sintra and Cascais.
Cascais is a coastal town reached via the scenic Atlantic road. Once a fishing village, it became a royal resort and retains an elegant character with its marina, historic centre and series of sandy coves. There is time to walk along the waterfront, visit the citadel or enjoy a meal by the sea.
